美消防中尉：现有器材无法确保消防员安全

【慧聪消防网】据消防工程杂志（FIRE ENGINEERING.COM）报道：在公众的眼里，消防队员非常勇敢，敢于进入正在燃烧着的建筑内灭火。但是我想问的是，消防员有勇气留在燃烧着的火场外面吗？在全国范围内，安全已成为消防部门非常重视的问题。然而，消防队员死于空空的楼宇，而那里面根本就没有需要救援的生命或者需要抢救的财产。每年这样的事都有发生。我最近看了一份关于职业安全和健康研究所（NIOSH）国家研究所的研究报道，一个消防员在进入一个空空的房子里进行救援的时候牺牲。据我所知，旁观者并不总是提供准确的信息，他们可能并不清除火场里的情况。因此，第一个到达现场的人员，必须确定火场内是否有任何需要救援的人员，或是否有任何需要保存的财产。很多时候，消防员急于进入失火的建筑物时，现有的消防器材不能确保他们的安全。当我们进入一个被火焰和烟雾损坏严重的房间里时，什么才能提供给我们安全呢？
